One million visitors!

This blog is about to reach a milestone. By, I guess, Friday it will have had 1 million visitors.

Thanks to my awesome PLN for all your support, comments, and interest! When Martin Sketchley persuaded me to start blogging a while ago I never imagined that…

  • people would read it!
  • trainee teachers would find it useful! So many awesome comments from CELTA/Dip trainees. It means a lot, cheers.
  • blogging would lead to professional writing! Trust me – publishers do read ELT blogs.
  • I would enjoy blogging!

A few random blog facts/stats…

Here’s what the views are like day-to-day (according to Jetpack):

Here are the typical referrers every month:

Jenni Fogg has contributed a lot to that, many thanks! For those materials writers among you, the LinkedIn referrals are where it’s at!

The teaching blog I most often refer to is Sandy Millin.

Here’s where the visitors have been from this year:

Most viewed post of all time: 30 activities inspired by game shows

Most liked post of all time: Writing for ELT magazines

Most comments: I clearly love coursebooks

Post I most enjoyed writing: Probably Why ELT coursebooks are great

Finally, thanks to the following people for their awesome guest posts:

Nicky Salmon, Michael Walker, Phil Wade, Kirsten Anne.

  1. I remember sitting down with you in the staffroom one day in our school, and we started talking about blogging as a forms of professional development and self-reflection. It had been such an honour to have helped you when we were early in our own careers.

Your blog has been absolutely brilliant and you have pursued blogging within the ELT profession, more than I could have. I have learnt so much from you and I do wish you luck with your future career with your new employer.

I look forward to you hitting 2 million visitors. Well done and a worthy achievement with 1 million visitors.

  4. Ah I’ve just seen this! I’ve been a bit out of the loop.

Happy to help. Those are some mad numbers, eh!

I no longer work with that company, but can put you in touch with the right person if there are ever any issues/domain name changes, etc.

    Well done!
